Spotted in Lamont: Annie Austin '10

Last week, we spotted Annie Austin '10 in Lamont (see photo below). Intrigued by her stylish appearance, we decided to investigate her outfit a bit more...

Leather Jacket. This olive green leather is a great, unique alternative to the black leather jackets we’ve been seeing in stores. Leather jackets have been popping up all over recently, and they’re a great way make an outfit stylish and chic. Experiment with different ways to wear them - try wearing it like Annie does (casually over a simple tee and with jeans), or go for a classier look by wearing it over a flowy maxi dress, Ashley Olsen style.

Navy Cotton Tee. To create a more bohemian look, Annie stole this tee from her roommate, a “cool hippie” type of girl with “awesome tees.” Annie made her outfit more interesting by adding this shot of navy blue, but still kept it simple. For a funkier look, try wearing a vintage tee.

Messenger Bag. We knew Macs were savvy, but we didn’t know was that computer accessories were too! Annie picked up this simple canvas messenger bag at the Apple store and uses it to carry her book. It’s a great and unique alternative to the ubiquitous Longchamp Le Pliage bag.

Skinny Black Jeans. Throwing on a pair of black jeans is a great way for Annie to keep her outfit both casual and simple, and to add some sophistication. She got these from French Connection. We recommend investing in a good pair of black skinnies – they’ll come in handy, we promise!

Leather Boots. Though the fact that they’re “over-priced” and “fall apart” annoys Annie, she can’t deny that her Cole Haan boots are super cute. Tall leather boots have been all over this season, and the simple, chic version Annie picked out goes well with her outfit. Think about investing in a pair for next winter – we’re sure they’ll still be trendy next winter and they’re on super sale at this time of year!
